Good Moring Team! I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you get much snow on Sunday? I didn't...but it looks like area is going to get 4-5 inches tonight!   am not looking forward to driving in it, that's for sure. If you are going to be out and about tomorrow, please be careful.  I also want to remind you that the drive and parking lot will probably not be plowed or salted until the snow event is over, so if you are coming into the school tomorrow plan for that.  The blog this week is short as we need to have a Wing Meeting this week....so THERE WILL NOT BE TEAM MEETINGS THIS WEEK.  PLAN ON ATTENDING A VIRTUAL WING MEETING ON WEDNESDAY AT 7:45 AM.  THIS IS FOR EVERYONE IN OUR WING, SPED, SPECIALS, INTERVENTION, AND TECH. ðŸ˜Š  I will send out a link for the meeting tomorrow.

Parent Survey

The return to school parent survey will got out to parents on Friday Jan. 29th. Classroom teachers will record parent responses as they come in. Our goal is to get all of our parents to complete the survey so our in-person and remote student numbers will be accurate. This will help us in our planning process.

Staff Meeting

Please note that we have a staff meeting on Tuesday at 3:30pm.

Wing Meeting

Mark you calendar. We will have a wing meeting on Wednesday morning at 7:45am. We have quite a few things to discuss and to begin planning for. There are updates that I would like to share from the last leadership meeting and dean meeting.

Tutoring

Please be sure to follow up with the students who have not been attending tutoring. If the student is not going to attend, please let me know and we can replace them with another student.

Hello Team! I hope you enjoyed the long weekend.  On Monday, we commemorated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I spent time re-reading various speeches and quotes, and used the time as a reflection of how I could more effectively incorporate the ideals he espoused into my life and service.  I hope that the day brought each of you a time to reflect as well.

This week is a monumental week in our nation's history as the Inauguration of a new President and Vice-President occurs.  I'm a history and political science geek...so I'm very excited!

Hey Team! I am so sorry that this is late...first I was out at the beginning of the week and then yesterday I had computer issues all day.  Finally, everything seems to be resolved and I can send this to you...albeit at the end of the week...smh!
I really enjoyed our O3's last week. It was nice to just catch up with each of you. It's important that we just check in with each other. Especially now with the state of our country. Remember, kindness prevails!

Returning to In person learning

Last week, our school board decided not to vote on a date to return to in person learning. However, this past week the governor urged schools to return to in person learning by March 1st. We will be discussing what that looks like for Laurus. Right now we are working hard to prepare the school with safety modifications.

Within the next few weeks, please visit the school and prepare your classroom and start on updating your Bulletin Boards that you are responsible for completing. Set your desks out and distance them. Cover bookcases. Minimize the items that are out, so there is less to disinfect. You should have your classroom ready for students to return. This needs to be done for all Resource Rooms, Sped Support, and Specials classrooms.  Just a reminder that when we return teachers will be responsible for disinfecting all touch point areas in your respective rooms.  Our maintenance will only be doing floors and trash.  As soon as I know more, I will let you know.

Rooms/Offices need to be ready by February 1st.

SPED Teachers:

NWEA Testing continues
